Quantum Weight Loss

The importance of eating nice things

While weight loss in the moment is an exact caloric deficit thing, I think half the battle is actually psychological, and other forms of momentum, and balances.

If you simply say no to all the tasty things life has to offer because "you're losing weight", you are going to get frustrated eventually and rebound. Because you're not being honest with yourself. Your mind starts seeing a piece of pizza as this special forbidden thing, when you could have just eaten 1 or 2 slices when given the chance, just to de-mystify it, you had your treat, maybe also acted properly instead of rejecting food in front of others because of your personal ethics.

By knowing that you can enjoy rare and tasty things when given the chance you drop that rigid mindset that often results in "fuck it" conclusions and make you quit goals. It also makes you live life closer to how it should be lived, with spontaneity and a bit of carelessness, considering the opportunities for these treats or events could be rare.

By knowing that you still eat nice things sometimes, your body can stay calm, there's no forbidden prize only available at the other end, because you already enjoy it.

But the trick here is to not ruin the chance of caloric deficit. This requires some measure. Instead of 6 slices of pizza, you ate 1 or 2, that's all you needed. You don't need the extra binge, you don't even enjoy it, you only enjoy the first couple of slices.

By eating the tasty stuff, in measure, you align yourself with timelines that don't end in rebound (eating a lot again and re-gaining weight), and enter timelines where you learn to enjoy food in proper dosages.

This doesn't mean that if you see a dessert in the fridge you should take it. But if you haven't had a cheesecake in some time, and you think it will cure your hunger for a while, then do.
